Although cell phone radiation and other EMF have been considered to be safe, a study published in JAMA, February 2011 found that the emitted radiation from cell phones increases the activity of our brain cells and causes a significant increase in the level of glucose in the brain after only 50 minutes on a cell phone. These are significant findings indicating that cell phone use is potentially quite dangerous to our health.
The May 2011 WHO report from the International agency for Research on Cancer has classified radiofrequency electromagnetic fields as possibly carcinogenic to humans, based on an increased risk for glioma in individuals using cell phones. Glioma is a malignant tumor of the brain. (The World Health Organization (WHO)/International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) report of May 31, 2011).
Many experts are now recommending that everyone – adults and children – protect themselves from the radiation emitted from cell phones by not keeping the cell close to the ear or the head and not wearing the phone on one’s body.
